darkP

darkP is a lightweight macOS utility designed for users with visual impairments. It provides instant black-and-white color inversion to improve contrast and make image details easier to see.

On Macs with a display notch, darkP uses the notch area at the top of the screen as its primary interface — minimal and always accessible, without a separate main window. On Macs without notch support, the app automatically uses a standard macOS window with the same features.

After opening an image, darkP automatically inverts colors and opens the result in Preview.

Method 1: Drag to the notch area

1. Launch darkP. Click the Dock icon or wait for the notch panel to open on first launch.
2. Drag an image file onto the notch panel at the top of the screen.
3. The inverted image opens automatically.

Method 2: Drag to the Dock icon

1. Drag an image file onto the darkP icon in the Dock.
2. The app processes and opens the inverted image.

Method 3: Right-click → Open With

1. Right-click an image in Finder.
2. Choose Open With → darkP.
3. The app inverts and previews the image.

• Tap the “⋯” button at the top-right of the notch to open Settings.
• Language, Launch at Login, and Haptic Feedback are available.
• 10 free trials are included; a one-time Pro purchase unlocks unlimited use.
• Use “Restore Purchases” if you already bought Pro.

• Menu bar: darkP → Quit darkP (⌘Q)
• “Exit” button at the bottom-right of the main notch view

Q: Why is there no main window?
A: On notch-capable Macs, darkP intentionally uses the notch panel only, to avoid duplicating the same workflow. Macs without a notch get a standard window automatically.

Q: Dock icon does nothing?
A: Click the darkP icon in the Dock — the notch panel should expand at the top of the screen. Try relaunching the app if needed.

Q: Price shows ¥8 but UI is in English?
A: Price follows your App Store account region, not the app’s display language.
